At Church on Sunday, the preacher used Blockbuster as an example of not knowing your true mission.  Blockbuster's mission was to provide a location where customers could go and rent movies, Netflix understood the mission was to get movies into houses.

I have been having somewhat of a crisis of faith.  Not my faith in Jesus, if anything that has strengthened.  My faith is all about trying to follow the life and teachings of Jesus. As Peter says in John 6 “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”

The parable of the good Samaritan

An account of the genealogy of Jesus the Messiah, the son of David, the son of Abraham. Abraham was the father of Isaac, and Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers, and Judah the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, and Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Aram, and Aram the father of Aminadab, and Aminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon,  and Salmon the father of Boaz by Rahab, and Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, and Obed the father of Jesse, and Jesse the father of King David. Sometimes I hear people ask what the biggest problem is with the Church, I often hear declining numbers cited.  I don’t really care about declining numbers, what I care about is making disciples of Jesus and having more people attend “churches” that don’t preach Jesus is a huge problem. I no longer want to be part of a movement that does not follow Jesus.  Jesus’ words were radical and are still as radical today

Happy Pentecost

I saw this morning that the House had passed the President’s budget bill.  I also read how the bipartisan Congressional Budget Office reported that it will cut Medicare.  Christians will be outraged!
